Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to cruise with Celebrity for the first time during a Seminar at Sea. This wasn’t your typical vacation—I was there for training on group travel best practices and to connect with suppliers for both cruising and land travel. While it was a busy schedule, I learned a lot, made new connections, and gained firsthand experience with what Celebrity Cruises has to offer.
One unique aspect of the trip? I shared a cabin with someone I’d never met before! Talk about stepping outside my comfort zone. Have you ever been paired with a stranger as a roommate? I’d love to hear about your experience—feel free to share in the comments!
Here’s an honest look at what I loved (and didn’t love) about cruising on the Celebrity Reflection, plus tips for anyone considering their first Celebrity cruise.
What I Loved About Celebrity Reflection
1. Something for Everyone
The ship’s design ensures that every guest-whether traveling solo, with family, or in a group-feels catered to. The kids' and teens’ lounges were thoughtfully laid out and easily accessible, making it a great option for families.
2. Quiet Spaces to Unwind
Even on a busy ship, it’s easy to find peace and quiet. My favorite hideaway (literally!) was The Hideaway, a cozy nook perfect for relaxing with a book or just getting away from the crowds.
3. Smooth Embarkation
One perk I loved was being able to walk on board with my bags and drop them off at my cabin-even if I couldn’t unpack until 2 pm when the cabins officially opened. This small detail made the boarding process much less stressful.
4. Music Everywhere
I love Broadway, but I tend to skip full shows when I’m on a cruise. Instead, I found myself drawn to the music offered all around the ship. From intimate performances to larger musical acts, the variety was fantastic and added to the vibrant atmosphere.
5. Silent Disco
If you’ve never tried a Silent Disco, you’re missing out! Dancing to your own playlist alongside others grooving to theirs is a unique and hilarious experience.
6. Le Petit Chef
This dining experience is a must-try. Combining storytelling and cuisine, it’s unlike anything I’ve experienced on a cruise ship. Highly recommended!
7. Laundry Service
If you’re cruising for a longer duration, take advantage of Celebrity’s laundry service. Pro tip: Prepay before boarding for the best value.
What I Didn’t Love
1. Fixed Dining Times
While the dining staff was excellent, I prefer more flexibility in my schedule. On most cruises, including Celebrity, you’re assigned a table and dining time unless you opt for specialty restaurants or the buffet. When booking, keep in mind that you can choose options that fit your preferences.
2. Wi-Fi Costs
Staying connected on Celebrity can be pricey. If you need Wi-Fi for your phone or computer, make sure to prepay before the cruise for a more affordable package.
Who Should Cruise on Celebrity?
Celebrity Cruises is perfect for:
Guests who love Royal Caribbean but prefer a more laid-back atmosphere.
Travelers who enjoy specialty dining and elevated culinary experiences.
Those who want to visit beautiful ports on stunning ships, especially the Edge Class.
Anyone who likes to party occasionally but doesn’t want a party-all-the-time vibe.
Celebrity is designed for a mix of relaxation and fun, making it an excellent choice for couples, families, or groups looking to create unforgettable memories.
